Who is The Editing Genius?

My experience includes editing, writing, and teaching in a variety of settings. Before launching The Editing Genius, I was a copy editor for 10 years at Robb Report, a national, monthly general-interest magazine. While reporting for the Brattleboro Reformer, I earned an award in community journalism from United Press International for a series of news stories.

Some of my favorite editing assignments were those where I worked with Barbara Comfort, editing several of her mystery novels, published by Landgrove Press and Norton.

I have taught editing, copy editing, and newspaper writing at Northeastern University’s Journalism School, at Boston College, and at Regis College.

I earned a Master's Degree in Journalism from Northeastern University in Boston. The Editing Genius is based in Arlington, Massachusetts, just outside Boston.

"For our 20th edition, we had Marilyn do a thorough proofreading of the New England GolfGuide. She was thorough, meticulous, and asked all the right questions when something was unclear. I recommend her without question for any similar task."
--John DiCocco, Editor/Publisher, NE GolfGuide

"Marilyn Jackson has copy edited my legal writing for more than eight years. She catches and corrects all my grammatical, word usage, typographical and other drafting errors and makes helpful suggestions for improving my writing style. She is accurate, reliable and prompt in her service."

--James O. Hall, Attorney, Boston
